Happy 1st Birthday Lily!!

Today, we celebrated Lily's first birthday at our home with many of our good friends and family here to help us! Her actual birthday is the 24th but today was the day that worked best to have people attend. It is so hard to believe that this past year has flown by so fast. Last year at this time, there was a raging snowstorm, which is probably what helped my labor to progress and Lily to arrive! I was supposed to deliver in Halifax but due to the storm and my quick progression, we stayed in Bridgewater, which in hindsight, was better in the long run due to the complications I had postpartum. Lily was her usual "hammy" self today and thoroughly enjoyed having all the watchful eyes to perform for! We had a beautiful Dora cake since that is Lily's favorite character, and then Lily had her own personal cake to mess in and enjoy! She was so cute as she taste tested the frosting carefully at first and then dug in, face first! She was so freakin' sweet with her facial expressions and smiles for the camera! She certainly got many beautiful gifts and new toys which will help to keep her occupied and stimulated. A HUGE thank you to everyone that came today and helped us make this special day so memorable for us and our sweet baby!
