How Quickly They Learn and Grow!

Unfortunately, all of our company has gone home :( It was kind of nice to have extra people around - it sure is quiet here now, not to mention lonesome! Oh well, it will soon be time for me to be at work again - that will keep me very occupied and wishing for more free time! Lily is doing very well with sitting unassisted - we have been doing a lot of practicing and today was the best she has ever done. She was sitting for periods of 20 minutes at a time. She still does not seem to have an interest in crawling yet but that is ok with me! She does a very good job of rolling all around to get where she wants to go. Soon time for me to get the siderail on the crib!! Right now, she seems more geared in working on her vocal abilities - she loves to squeel and can mimick a lot of sounds. Jody and I play with her and say "wheeee" and now she will be sitting and you hear her say "wheeee" - too cute! She says "dadadadad" and "mamamamam" and then there are times that you swear that she said a real word. Yesterday, Jody's mom was holding her and she said "Mommy" plain as anything - not because she knows how to use it or associate it with me, but she was just imitating a sound she has heard. I am glad that Jody's mom heard it too though! Lily is also starting to repeat things that you show her - like bang blocks over and over again - I have been warned that this is not a good thing to teach her! Ah, she will drop it for something new I am sure. These babies are just like little sponges for sure! She was even able to lean over to reach blocks and then get back to a sitting position without losing her balance!
